WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama promised “a new dawn of American leadership” on Monday as he formally introduced his national security team, led by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as his nominee for secretary of state.

Saying that unanswered questions about the fatal attack on Anne Pressly have led to rumors, the stepfather of the slain KATV news anchor addressed on Monday some aspects of the case that investigators have not disclosed.

Recession a year old, bureau says

The U.S. economy has been in a recession since December 2007, the National Bureau of Economic Research said Monday.
