The Tyranny of Small Decisions
Dr. Warren Bickel, the Wilbur D. Mills chair of Alcohol Abuse and Drug Prevention at UAMS, will discuss "The Tyranny of Small Decisions" as it relates to everything from climate change and the financial crisis in America, to drug abuse, gambling and obesity. Dr. Bickel will show how these and other challenges of and for our modern society derive in large part from the same root cause. A professor at both the College of Medicine and the College of Public Health at UAMS, Dr. Bickel also serves as director of the UAMS Center for Addiction Research and the Center for the Study of Tobacco Addiction.
