The UCA Faculty Chamber Series presents a concert

JOINING FORCES CONCERT ON OCTOBER 19, 2010 The UCA Faculty Chamber Series presents a concert of mighty force on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Recital Hall at the University of Central Arkansas. This concert is open to the public and free of charge. This program consists of works of very contrasting styles. Christine Donahue (soprano), Martha Antolik (mezzo-soprano), and Carl Anthony (piano) will bring you some songs by Felix Mendelssohn. Christine Donahue will also sing Schubert’s “Auf dem Strom” with Brent Shires (horn), and Terrie Shires (piano). Kelly Johnson (clarinet), Stephen Feldman (cello), and Carl Anthony will be performing “Ebb Tide” by Norbert Goddaer. Also on the program is Darius Milhaud’s Suite for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano performed by Linda Hsu, Kelly Johnson, and Carl Anthony. A special work featured on this concert is the Concertino after Quatuor by Pierre Max Dubois. We are delighted to present to you the Arkansas Saxophone Quartet as our special guest artists on the concert series. Members of the group are Andy Wen, faculty at UALR; Caroline Taylor, faculty at Ouachita Baptist University; Brent Bristow, ASU-Beebe Faculty, and Jackie Lamar, UCA Faculty. Conway Symphony music director Israel Getzov will lead an orchestra made out of UCA faculty and students, Hendrix faculty Karen Griebling, and UALR student to accompany the Arkansas Saxophone Quartet. There are two more concerts this season on the UCA Faculty Chamber Series.
