Author Ben Farmer to speak on UALR Campus

Author Ben Farmer to speak on UALR Campus The UALR Department of English will host Ben Farmer, author of Evangeline, October 18 – October 22 on the UALR campus. Farmer will hold a pedagogy workshop on Monday, October 18, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in SUA 102D. On Tuesday, October 19, he will lead a discussion on Evangeline for the UALR Young Adult Book Club form 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in Stabler Hall 407. On Friday, October 22, Farmer will lecture at a Writer’s Workshop in Stabler Hall 501 from 9:00 am to 10:00 and then conduct a reading and book signing at from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Wordsworth Books & Co. at 5920 R Street in Little Rock. All events are free and open to the public. Farmer lives in Maryland, where he was born and raised. He graduated from Kenyon College with a degree in history. Since, he has worked as a teacher, an editor, and in a booking agency for musicians. Based on the William Wadsworth Longfellow’s epic poem of the same name, Evangeline is Farmer’s first novel.
