A must have cd that will minister to the hearts of loyal Lee Williams & the Spiritual QC's lovers for many years to come! Top chart spots in Gospel in this millenium are rarely filled by quartets. Yet, Lee Williams & the Spiritual QC's have been blessed to find themselves with precisely that honor. Certainly it's no fluke as the sounds of this hard-driving ensemble have proved to be heavy crowd draws wherever their extensive concert touring takes them. The QC's deliver their trademarkded typical sound throughout the new project. You've got that flawless and relentlessly tight vocal groove of repeated broken phrases--- the theme of the song--- over which the dapper Lee Williams moves and whirls his gripping and gruffsome lead. It's scriptural teaching from him in one song, it's sincere testimony from him the next. His songwriting and arranging skills are evident throughout. All this is underpinned by one of the hardest working and sensitive quartet bands on the circuit. This new cd is simply one beautiful production of beautiful music, beautifully written-- quartet style. The Spiritual QCs, QCs standing for 'Qualified Christian singers', have existed in some form since 1968. However, it wasn't until the late '90s that they began recording and getting their due as a highly skilled traditional-styled black gospel group. And it wasn't until 1998 that the group started billing lead singer Lee Williams ahead of the Spiritual QC's name. Although the Spiritual QC's toured off and on over the last three decades of the 20th century, it wasn't until the '90s that their music was documented extensively. Through connections with their friends the Gospel Four, the Spiritual QC's entered the studio to record their first CD, Jesus Is Alive and Well, in 1996. A second album, Love Will Go All the Way, appeared in 1998, and the group -- now billed as Lee Williams & the Spiritual QC's, toured extensively behind it. That set the stage for 2000's Good Time, which crashed into the Top Ten of Billboard's gospel albums chart in November, in just its second week of release. Accolades poured in during the next year; the group won Traditional Quartet of the Year at the Gospel Music Excellence Awards, and were nominated for Best Gospel Album at the Soul Train Music Awards. In May 2003, Williams and the Spiritual QC's released their fourth disc Right on Time.
