"The Long Walk"

Village Creek State Park in Wynne gives visitors the opportunity to follow the experiences of the Choctaw Nation during the Indian Removal of the 1830s with the film "The Long Walk" on March 5. The Choctaw were the first of the Five Civilized Nations removed from their homeland, and several detachments traveled along a section of the Memphis to Little Rock Road, a portion of which lies within the park boundaries. For more information, contact the park at 870-238-9406. Admission is free.
