Rising to fame in the early ‘80s as one half of the duo The Judds, Wynonna has been a part of the music scene for almost three decades. Between 1983 and 1991, The Judds charted 23 hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts, including 14 number ones. After her duo partner and mother, Naomi Judd, was diagnosed with an illness, Wynonna embarked on her solo career in 1992. Her quintuple platinum 1992 solo debut, Wynonna spawned four number one hits and was the bestselling country album ever by a female artist at that time. Since then she has produced six more studio albums, and is in the works to release another one by year’s end. A multiple Grammy®, Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) award winner, Wynonna is also a New York Times bestselling author for her 2005 memoir “Coming Home to Myself.” Her debut novel “Restless Heart” was released in January 2012. Wynonna’s Rockin’ Christmas will combine her smooth vocals and energetic live presence in an unforgettable performance with her new band, The Big Noise. Coupled with some of her biggest hits, Wynonna’s Rockin’ Christmas will deliver soulful renditions of traditional holiday classics like “White Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland” while making this a special performance for the entire family. Opening for this performance of Wynonna’s Rockin’ Christmas is Cheryl LuQuire. Born and raised in Mississippi, LuQuire’s been described as one part Faith Hill and one part Aretha Franklin. "I have a wide variety of influences," says LuQuire, “from classic, southern rock to soul to modern country. I love it all, and I think you can hear that in my songs." This performance is part of the Popcorn Indiana® American Masters Series. For more information on this performance, please visitwww.waltonartscenter.org or call 443.5600.
