Retail Management and Operations - Selling and Service Training

Retail Management and Operations is a nationally recognized curriculum formulated by the NRFF (National Retail Federation Foundation). Selling and Service is the first of a five part series. This will be a two day training Monday, February 11th and Tuesday, February 12th from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Who should take this course?
•Considering opening a retail store
•Current retail business owner
•Employees of retail business
•Future retail managers

Selling and Service covers the following areas:
•Identify major direct competitors.
•Understand how demographics, influence merchandising decisions and customer profiles.
•Communicate annual sales, profit goals, and results.
•Establish selling and service goals.
•Model selling and service behaviors.
•Develop staffing schedules.
•Resolve customer complaints.

Participants will gain an invaluable overview of the retail industry, learn best practices in operation concepts and processes, and understand accountability in a Retail Ownership and Management role. Modules include facilitated case studies, group discussions, and analytical activities to mirror real-world scenarios.



Five Part Program Objectives:
•Identify the factors involved in operational management.
•Understand merchandise planning, execution, purchasing, and analysis.
•Identify the ways that Retail Owners and Managers impact employees and their daily employment experiences.
•Understand how to drive sales growth and read and respond to various financial reports.

Other ROM courses offered in the following five parts: (There is a one time book fee of $60 that covers all five sessions.)

4.Merchandising
5.Financial Reporting

ROM is taught by Sherry Howard, Director, of the Arkansas Women's Business Center. She brings with her over 16 years of retail management and customer service experience. She is also the owner of two retail ventures www.specialwishes.biz and www.oh-snap.biz.
