Influences of the Gurdjieff Tradition in Art
Does an artist’s lifetime of spiritual work show through the strokes of his or her brush? This one-day show brings together works by artists who were also leaders in bringing the living tradition of spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff to this country—including Little Rock. The artwork collected here represents the work of those whose commitment to both art and to Gurdjieff’s teaching spanned as much as six decades. Works by Andre Enard, Vala Hafsted Enard, Christopher Fremantle, Paul Reynard, William Segal, and others will be shown. The opportunity to see the assembled works of these artists, steeped in the twin worlds of their artistic and spiritual quests, is rare and not to be missed. There will be a 3:00 PM gallery talk. The exhibit is curated by the Gurdjieff Foundation of Arkansas.
