For the 26th consecutive year, thousands of people are expected to come together for a morning of communal worship at the 26th Annual Community Easter Sunrise Service. The service will be held on Sunday, April 20 at 7 a.m. at the First Security Amphitheater, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. This ecumenical service is organized to serve the central Arkansas community by Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church (PHUMC). The service has been in the same location since March 26, 1989.
2014 participants will include: Georgia Mjartan, Director of Our House; Erin Hawley, News Anchor at KATV Channel 7; and Mr. Steve Straessle, Principal of Catholic High School for Boys. Music will be offered by the combined choirs of PHUMC, Philander Smith College, and Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School. The 2014 co-chairs are Penny and Gordon Wilbourn.
