Power of the Purse Luncheon
Womens' Foundation of Arkansas' 16th annual Power of the Purse Little Rock luncheon will take place on Friday, October 3, 2014, in the Wally Allen Ballroom at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 2014 honoree for the Woman of the Year in Philanthropy is Catherine Hughes, a founding member of the Women's Foundation of Arkansas and active philanthropist.
W.F.A. will, for the first time, honor a women's organization at the luncheon. The Little Rock Chapter of the Links, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of concerned, committed, and talented women who, linked in friendship, enhance the quality of life in the larger community. The organization is concerned primarily with enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the identities, culture, and economic survival of African-Americans and persons of African descent. It is actively involved with the Arkansas Rice Depot and Heifer International and provide support to the Historical Black Colleges and Universities in Central Arkansas.
Sharon Orlopp, Global Chief Diversity Officer and a Senior Vice President at Walmart, will present the keynote address.
