18th Annual Mid-Southern Watercolorists Open Membership Exhibit
to be on Display at Cantrell Gallery
Cantrell Gallery will be hosting the 18th Annual Mid-Southern Watercolorists Open Membership Exhibit, July 15 through September 5. There will be a reception celebrating the opening of the show Sunday, July 19, 2009, from 2-4:00 in the afternoon. In the past years, 50-75 members of this regional artist's organization have participated. Many of the featured artists will be present at the reception. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited. Admission is free.
1st Annual People's Choice Award: New this year! Any person who comes to see this exhibit will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite piece in the exhibit, throughout the entire run of the show. At the end of the exhibit, the votes will be counted, and the artist with the winning number of votes will receive a gift certificate from Cantrell Gallery.
The aim of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists is to elevate the stature of watercolor and educate the public to the significance of watercolor as an important, creative permanent painting medium. They are dedicated to the highest aesthetic standards and seek to further interest in watercolor by their programs and exhibitions.
