Lover of Barns Exhibits at Fairfield Bay Library

Lover of Barns Exhibits at Fairfield Bay Library

Fairfield Bay Library, 369 Dave Creek Parkway, Fairfield Bay, Arkansas is featuring the works of Pauline Sears beginning July 9 until October 8th. Hours at the library are Mon.-Tues.-Thurs 1-4:00 p.m. and Fri 10-5, Saturday 9:30-12:30.

Pauline Sears was born and raised on a small farm in Northern Michigan, the 2nd oldest of 7 children born to Kenneth and Thelma Oldswager Deller. Although no formal art education was offered in the school she attended, she enjoyed drawing, writing poems and short stories. She moved to Wisconsin after her marriage to Dean Sears and lived there until 1996, when they both retired to Fairfield Bay. Pauli attended acrylic art classes in Wisconsin, but interrupted the classes when her daughter was born. She began painting again in 2001, this time in oils. She took classes in oil painting with Pat Smith, Doris Sexson (a local artist), and Bill Garrison, (a renowned oil artist), drawing and watercolor classes given by Richard Stephens and Don Dane. Her favorite paintings are of old barns, buildings and landscapes. In September, she will enter an oil painting, "Hometown Lighthouse," in her first juried show. Pauline is a member of the North Central Arkansas Artist League and currently serves as their treasurer. Many of her works are featured in galleries in and around Fairfield Bay.

The public is invited to view during the hours listed for free. For further information, contact Ellen Kelly at 501-884-6476.
