Artists George Holley Jones and Julie Jeannene present, "REVIVAL", a multimedia art and soul celebration !! This special duo exhibition will be held at Arsaga's on Crossover for the month of October (Oct.3-Nov.7) with a reception on Sunday, October 17 from 3-5 pm. Holley Jones ( GeHoJo) is an abstract expressionist whose style and interests are as varied as the media he uses. He works on large canvass, as did the artists he admires ( Pollock, DeKooning, Rothko) A shape or a flash of color asserts its right to exist in the piece. "I travel through the project never knowing how these works of art will be resolved." The finished pieces are surprises to the eyes and to the mind. Holley's work is inspired by family, news, weather patterns, and the very rural Ozark environment in which he lives and makes art. "It is my hope that , in viewing my works, the observer will realize there are no limitations." Julie Jeannene is a local multimedia artist and poet who expresses through collage, photography, and painting. She responds to the outer world and looks to her internal landscape, creating evocative images of uncommon energy. " Making art is essential to who I am. I believe that my purpose lies in holding up a creative mirror ; in expressing the renewal within and around us through deeply knowing myself." I am inspired by the mountains and rivers, my family and community, and my spiritual life. I hope that a person viewing my art will see some part of themselves more clearly- and that part will open up to the light." GeHoJo's website is : www.gehojo.com
