The Arkansas Glasshoppers, Inc. will host their 25th Annual Depression Era Glass Show and Sale at the Hall of Industry, State Fairgrounds, Roosevelt & Howard Streets, Little Rock, Arkansas. Show dates are Saturday, February 26, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 27, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission of $5 is good for both days. Parking is free. Twenty-four outstanding dealers from 14 states will display over 175 tables of sparkling glassware, pottery, and kitchen items of the era. Elegant glassware will also be available including Cambridge, Fostoria, Fenton, Heisey, Imperial, Morgantown and Tiffin. Pottery will include Roseville, Weller, Hull, Niloak, Camark, and others. There will also be displays of private glass collections. Door prizes will be given on the hour and there will be a reference table for glass identification. Visitors may bring in up to three items for identification or evaluation. The Club is very excited this year to have two well-known associations displaying collections in conjunction with our 25th Show! The Arkansas Arts Center has very generously agreed to display the Bob Batty Pressed Glass Collection at the 1840 Pike-Fletcher-Terry Mansion Decorative Arts Museum on Saturday and Sunday the same weekend as the Glass Show. This wonderful collection originally held over 2500 pieces and has not been on display for many years. There is no charge for this display. Also in cooperation with the club is an exhibit of Depression Era Glass which will be on display in the Foyer Gallery at the Historic Arkansas Museum from January 10, 2011, through March 14, 2011. The public is invited to come and spend the day shopping at leisure. The building is handicapped accessible and a snack bar is available.
