White County Single Parent Scholarship Shindig

The White County Single Parent Scholarship Fund Inc. held its first Scholarship Shindig on June 7 at the White County Fairgrounds. The event, which attracted about 150 people, raised $15,400 for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund. The White County Single Parent Scholarship Fund Inc. awards scholarships to single parents of minor children who are pursuing postsecondary education in order to provide a better life for themselves and their children. Since its beginning in 1999, the fund has awarded 397 scholarships with a value of almost $204,000. Photos are by Steve Thompson.
