Taste of Faith dinner

August 15, 2013 12:38 p.m.

They took of the bread, they took of the cup — there was some chocolate pie, and they took of that too. The Catholic Diocese of Little Rock welcomed nearly 600 souls to the fourth Taste of Faith dinner at Embassy Suites on Aug. 10. This year’s dinner was a fundraiser for the diocesan seminarians, which number 41. Last year the dinner raised more than $172,000. This year, Dianne Brady said, it grossed more than $220,000, and she hopes the net will be $185,000 to $190,000. A band of musical seminarians whipped the Catholic crowd into a veritable pentecostal pitch with “When the Saints Go Marching In.” “So much fun,” Brady said. “Had everyone on their feet.”
