Pal Joey

While the capital city anticipated that next day’s march on that acropolis we call War Memorial, the theater crowd barricaded themselves inside the downtown playhouse where some Broadway bigwigs staged Pal Joey. Director Peter Schneider, who won a Tony Award producing The Lion King, was there, as was Broadway producer Barry Weissler, and Ted Chapin, president of the outfit that licenses and publishes Rodgers & Hammerstein. Pal Joey runs through September.
