A Day of Caring, Searcy

The 18th annual A Day of Caring was held Aug. 2 in the Ganus Athletic Center on the campus of Harding University in Searcy. A Day of Caring is a communitywide outreach program designed to help the uninsured and underinsured residents of White County. Free dental and eye screenings were provided, as well as haircuts, immunizations and Pap tests. Other health screenings, such as blood-pressure checks, were conducted, and social-service information was provided. School supplies, Bibles, socks, underwear, diapers, bags of groceries and personal-care products were distributed. (Photos by Joseph V. Washington/Contributing Photographer)
