Conway Wampus Cats vs. Bryant Hornets

The Conway Wampus Cats jumped on Bryant early in beating the Hornets 24-10 to win the 7A/6A-Central Conference championship Nov. 7. Both teams were 6-0 in league play entering the game. Conway senior running back Kevin Chamorro rushed for 248 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries. Junior running back Mark Odom rushed for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 carries. Conway kicker Matt Cummins kicked 3 extra points and a 33-yard field goal. Conway led 17-0 at halftime. The Wampus Cats received a first-round bye in the Class 7A state playoffs, which started Nov. 14. Conway hosted Fayetteville in a second-round game Friday at John McConnell Stadium.
