Tie One On

December 12, 2015 9:12 p.m.

It wasn’t pouring sheets of freezing rain, like two years ago. It raised more money — $155,765 — than last year (about $137,000), according to development director Lizzy Chandler. Dare we declare the ninth Tie One On Dec. 3 for Our House, the shelter for working homeless, winner of all the Ties? As it has for most of its life, the event that, at its heart, is a charity silent auction of aprons decorated by local artists, celebrities and dilettantes, is also the “see-and-be-seen between holidays” party for a diverse cast of young professionals. It always takes place at Pavilion in the Park, and at least recently, has a great buffet by Simply the Best, and drinks from Glazer’s Distributing.
