North Little Rock-based artist Theresa Cates is branching out these days. From her first pieces — which depicted women praising God in church, Bibles flying — she has moved on to depictions of blues and jazz musicians. Rural and urban life in the days of yore. Romance. Expanded glimpses of church life. Abstracts. A number of Cates' works were displayed for viewing and sale at The Power of Arts Featuring Artist Theresa Cates, an open-house event held Jan. 25 at Power Ultra Lounge in Little Rock.
