Little Rock Zoo penguins

December 5, 2016 2:32 p.m.

The Little Rock Zoo has a new penguin for visitors to see. The zoo announced recently that penguins Domino and Laura "successfully hatched an egg on Nov. 2," according to a news release. Visitors can see the as-yet-unnamed chick in a special conservation room visible at the exhibit. It will join the rest of the penguin colony early next year when it turns 3 months old. The zoo said it will hold a naming contest later to determine what the latest addition to the colony will be called. See a photo of the new penguin in the gallery at left, as well as many other photos of Little Rock Zoo penguins from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette archives.
