— Most players projected to be picked in this weekend's NFL Draft were recruited by several colleges, but Aaron Fairooz is an exception.

Fairooz had just one scholarship offer - from Central Arkansas.

"I don't hold anything against anybody," Fairooz said of the other schools that overlooked him. "UCA turned out to be a great fit for me."

Fairooz, a wide receiver from Mansfield, Texas, is projected as a sixth- or seventh-round pick after finishing his UCA career with 186 catches for 2,797 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was one of two former UCA players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, along with defensive end Jacob Ford.

"It was the coolest most stressful experience I've ever had," Fairooz said of the combine, where players are put through a series of physical and mental tests and meet with NFL coaches, scouts and executives. "It's kind of nerve-racking when you feel like the last 10 years of your life led up to that point."

Fairooz is a draft prospect because of his size (6-6 and 218 pounds) and speed (4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash) to go along with his production for the Bears.
