CONWAY When former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee strums his bass guitar, it must be music to the ears of the Gibson Guitar Co. and the craftsmen at the Tobias bass factory in Conway.
As Huckabee's bid for president gains momentum, he finds himself addressing a national stage, and he has taken his Tobias bass with him, dropping licks at campaign stops.
Not just any bass will do under so bright a spotlight.
The Tobias is a high-end instrument, made of exotic woods and costing from $2,000 to $7,300, said Tony Togni, manager of the factory in Conway.
