Neighbors and family members congregate near where 9-year-old DeMotric Moore was shot and killed Monday afternoon in El Dorado. Police arrested Jonathan Watts in the shooting.
EL DORADO A middle-aged man said to fling bricks in retaliation against rock-throwing youngsters was due in court today on a charge of capital murder in the death of 9-year-old DeMotric Moore, who was shot and killed Monday afternoon while retrieving his bike from a schoolyard.
"I've had it with these kids and the rock throwing," Jonathan Watts, 50, reportedly told arresting police officers.
DeMotric died from a gunshot wound in the upper-left chest, a police report said. Witnesses told officers that Watts had fired a shotgun. Investigators said they had recovered several weapons from Watts' home and found shell casings on the suspect's front porch.
