Double duty a battle at home

— Susan Neubauer's first anxiety attack struck in October 2006.

Her two little boys slept in the next room, and she was the only adult at home.

Her husband, Darrin, and other members of Alpha Battery of Arkansas' 2-142ndField Artillery had spent three months training at Camp Shelby, Miss., for deployment to Kuwait. Then, after a five-day visit at home, he'd left early that morning for a year-long tour of security duty with the Arkansas Army National Guard.

The realization that he'd be in another country until the next October was sinking in.
