Annual Mutt Strut planned for Oct. 20

— The third annual Mutt Strut and Fall Harvest Carnival will take place Saturday, Oct. 20, at Arc Isle on Lake Hamilton.

The event is hosted by the Humane Society of Garland County. It will take place at 11 a.m. Arc Isle is located at 203 Lookout Point off Arkansas 7 South. Parade entry fee is $15 and $5 for each additional evententered. Other events include best behaved, cutest, best Halloween costume, best trick and best kisser.

To qualify for the grand prize of Best in Show, pets must have competed in the parade and have won first place in at least two events. If no single dog wins two events, judges will select Best in Show from the six firstplace winners.

Master of ceremonies will be Tom Wilkins of the Bath House Show. Entertainment will be provided by Dance City Dancers and Garland County Sheriff's K-9 Unit.

Best in Show is eligible to win $100. Second place will win a weekend for two at the Clarion Resort in Hot Springs.

Third place will win a weekend for two at the Baymont Innand Suites on Lake Hamilton. Everyone will receive a certificate for participating in the parade.

Concessions will be offered at the event. All proceeds will to toward helping abused, neglected and unwanted animals.
