Holy moly! 77 of 113 alumni attend 50th Mount St. Mary's, Catholic High reunion

— Little Rock Central wasn't going to get all the hype.

Fifty years after graduating from Mount St. Mary Academy and Catholic High School, members of the class of 1957 convened at Cajun's Wharf for a reunion dinner Sept. 29. Of the graduating class of 46 students from Catholic High and 67 from Mount St. Mary's, 77 former classmates now living across the United States came to celebrate.

The evening was part of a reunion weekend featuring a Catholic High football game against Cabot at War Memorial Stadium, tours of the two high schools, a visit to the Clinton Presidential Center and a walk on the Big Dam Bridge.

"It's tremendously exciting because we have not had a reunion since our 25th," said reunion cochairman Mary Battreal. "Catholic and Mount have always had a strong bond. The relationship between the two is very unique."

The reunion committee consisted of Battreal, chairman Becky May, chairman Dave Stuff, cochairman Dr. Larry Marecek, Dianne Hudson, Lilly Hess, Mary Bea Hiegel and Mary Parrish.
