Inmate who fled job nabbed, official says

— A Mississippi County work-release inmate who stole a truck from his job and fled was captured Saturday night, a prison spokesman said.

Dina Tyler said 38-year-old Richard Franks was caught in Dallas County between Fordyce and Thornton. Franks is being held at the Dallas County jail and will be transferred to the Maximum Security Unit atTucker.

Tyler said Franks was working at a Blytheville sheet-metal company Saturday when he apparently walked into the parking lot, found someone's truck with the keys inside and drove off. Authorities recovered the truck, which was damaged in a wreck.

Tyler said Franks is serving a 12-year prison sentence out of Dallas County for theft, robbery and hot checks charges.
