— WASHINGTON - Mike Huckabee spoke Saturday as if from a pulpit. It is better to be a David than a Goliath, the Baptist minister and former Arkansas governor told the crowd of religious conservative voters.

"Say it!" called out a voice from the crowd.

It is better to have the faith of Daniel, Huckabee said, in the practiced cadence of a preacher, than to be one of the lions.

"Right!" yelled out an audience member.

"I don't want ever for us to let expediency and electibility to replace our true values," Huckabee exclaimed, touching off one of seven standing ovations during his 20-minute oration.
