HELPFUL HINTS

— DEAR HELOISE: Recently, there has been a great increase in the volume of mail receipts for stamps for children. One of the donors enclosed a copy of the Heloise column where you mentioned Stamps for Children. We thank you for your wonderful support of our work!

We are now in our 21st year and have shipped, conservatively, more than 19 million canceled stamps (about 4 tons) all over the country. A lot of kids have benefited from these stamps.

E-mail and electronic bill payments have certainly reduced the use of stamps, but there are still plenty out there.

As always, we thank you, and the readers of the Heloise column, for all of your support.

DEAR READER: We are always happy to reprint information on your great nonprofit organization. Readers, save all your canceled stamps andsend them along to Stamps for Children. They are recycled and sent to children's organizations. Send the stamps to: Stamps for Children, Harold Effner, 27 Pine Street, Lincroft, NJ 07738.

DEAR HELOISE: Invert cone-shaped room deodorant in shoes and heavy slippers. No more odor issues!

DEAR HELOISE: When I moved and got a new job, I had new insurance. You always have to fill out new forms, so I asked the doctor's office if the forms could be faxed to me at my office, and I filled them out ahead of time! I even did it for my pet when he had to go for shots. Now if I need any of the information, I have it right at home.
