HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Johnson rushes for 270 yards to lead Texarkana

The state's top-ranked team might have the state's best player.

Dennis Johnson rushed for 270 yards and five touchdowns Friday night to lead No. 1 Texarkana over Watson Chapel 38-14 and become The Associated Press Arkansas High School Player of the Week.

Johnson, the only junior on the 2006 AP Super Team, scored on runs of 6, 28, 38, 28 and 47 yards to lead the Razorbacks.

Last year, Johnson rushed for 1,471 yards despite missing three games because of an injury, and Texarkana won the Class 6A championship.
