— BRONCOS WR Marshall arrested

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Monday.

Marshall was pulled over in downtown Denver shortly after 2 a.m., police Lt. Ron Saunier said. His arrest came hours after the Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-28 in Denver.

Marshall was issued a summons and was released.

Broncos team officials said they were aware of the arrest but had no comment.

DOLPHINS RB out for season

DAVIE, Fla. - Miami running back Ronnie Brown will miss the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament in the Dolphins' 49-28 loss to New England.

An imaging scan exam showed that Brown, a three-year veteran from Auburn, had a complete tear of the right anterior cruciate ligament.

Brown injured the knee in the third quarter while trying to plant his foot during an interception return by the Patriots' Randall Gay.

He left the game with 76 yards on 17 carries and 33 yards on five catches.

VIKINGS Jackson has broken finger

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has a broken finger on his throwing hand, an injury suffered in Sunday's defeat at Dallas.

Jackson has what's called an avulsion fracture in the index finger on his right hand, where a ligament or muscle tendon has stretched and pulled off a tiny piece of the bone. Jackson was wearing a small splint on the finger in the locker room. He said he hurt it in the third quarter when he hit his hand on another player's arm and then reinjured it near the end of the game.

"Right now, I'm just waiting for some of the swelling to go down to know exactly where it is," said Jackson, who completed only six passes for 72 yards in the 24-14 loss to the Cowboys.

Still, Coach Brad Childress said Jackson remains the starter despite that performance if he's deemed able to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jackson said he wasn't sure how his grip of the ball would be affected.

"I can play with it. The doctor said I can play with it. It's just about me, if I can throw the football with it," Jackson said.

FALCONS

Leftwich status uncertain

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - The most pressing concern for the banged-up Atlanta Falcons is the status of quarterback Byron Leftwich, who went down with what appeared to be a high right ankle sprain in his first start for the Falcons. He underwent an imaging scan Monday, but Coach Bobby Petrino wasn't sure how long Leftwich might be out.

Leftwich played well, completing 15 of 23 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. He also led a pair of scoring drives that ended with field goals by Morten Andersen, giving the Falcons a 13-7 halftime lead.

CHARGERS Practices moved

SAN DIEGO - Running back LaDainian Tomlinson was one of 40 members of the San Diego Chargers' organization who were forced to evacuate their homes as wildfires burned in San Diego County, and the team will spend the rest of the week practicing in Arizona.

The Chargers, who had just returned from their bye weekend, canceled practice Monday because of poor air quality and so the players could take care of their families, spokesman Bill Johnston said.

The Chargers, scheduled to host Houston on Sunday, announced they will fly to Phoenix today and practice at the Arizona Cardinals' headquarters in Tempe on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Cardinals have a bye this weekend.

Four years to the week after being forced to move a Monday night game to Tempe on short notice because of deadly wildfires, the Chargers and the NFL said it was too early to know if the fires will affect Sunday's game. As it was in 2003, Qualcomm Stadium's parking lot was being used as an evacuation center.
