PB arsenal sends 7 to hospital

— Seven Pine Bluff Arsenal employees were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for observation Monday afternoon after they experienced symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide exposure, arsenal officials said.

The employees work at the Arsenal's shipping and receiving warehouse, which is not associated with the chemical weapons storage or demilitarization, according to an arsenal news release.

Arsenal clinic personnel reported that all seven were stable and experiencing mild to moderate symptoms, including headache and nausea.

The employees were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure and for follow-up evaluations.

Arsenal spokesman Rachel Newton said all seven were treated and released.

The cause of the exposure is being investigated by the arsenal's safety office. Names of the employees were not released Monday.
