LITTLE ROCK — "A Day at the Farm" is planned from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Historic Downtown Farmers' Market in the Transportation Plaza at Orange Street.
A "pumpkin patch" photo backdrop with fall crops and hay bales will be provided.
Amateur photographers can bring their entries for a farm photo contest involving pictures of farm produce, farm landscapes and farm animals.
The event will also include music from the Briar Point Bluegrass Band, Caney Creek Bluegrass Band, Family & Friends Bluegrass Band and the Malvern Music Company Entertainers.
There will be a farm animal petting zoo, some "old-fashioned" children's games, plus contests, refreshments, face painting, story telling, a fall plant sale and craft demonstrations.
Most activities will be free of charge.
New at this year's event will be a display of antique farm vehicles, along with a silent auction to benefit the construction of a permanent farmers-market facility.
Quality handmadecrafts will be sold along with a variety of produce from local farmers. The event marks the last day of the farmers-market season.
