RUSSELLVILLE - Arkansas Hospice has scheduled certification classes for all new volunteers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and Thursday, Nov. 8, at the organization's Russellville office, 2405 East Parkway, Suite 3.

Classes will cover the history of hospice; safety and precaution; volunteer duties; chaplain services; Alzheimer's disease and dementia; death and grief; and family communication. Volunteer opportunities exist for office workers, construction crew members, those who knitor crochet, teen mentors and people willing to spend time with patients. Special attention is given to volunteers' time and location preferences. All Arkansas Hospice volunteers are trained and certified.
