A DAY FOR WRITERS: Fundraiser for Dairy Hollow shows guests the write stuff

— On a beautiful fall day, the Maumelle home of Susan Martin was the setting Oct. 19 for a fundraiser for the Dairy Hollow Writers Colony at Eureka Springs.

Ann Maine of Des Moines, Iowa, a board member of the colony and editor-in-chief of Traditional Home, was special guest. She helped direct the creation of theCulinary Suite, allowing it to be the only writers colony to recognize the genre of culinary writing.

Maine also attended a fundraiser in Pine Bluff on Oct. 18. Board members Laura Castoro and Gail Morschheimer, both of Pine Bluff, were hostesses for both events. Castoro is author of 37 romance novels.

The buffet table was decorated in a fall theme with sunflowers, wheat and pumpkins.

Guests included Jane Tucker of Eureka Springs, the colony coordinator.
