Harding's annual musical flies into town

— Harding University presents a magical musical, The Wizard of Oz, Friday and Saturday as the highlight of Homecoming weekend. Tickets are now on sale for the nostalgic adventure down the yellowbrick road.

The real spectacle of the show is the array of special effects, courtesy of ZFX Flying Effects.

Be prepared for flying witches, wizards and even monkeys to zoom across the stage.

A diverse cast and crew - from freshman nursing majors to MBA students - come together to recreate the enchanting talein the Land of Oz. The cast even includes animals, some more authentic than others. Sophomore Alex Ritchie of Searcy leads as the cowardly lion, and Stockstill's own miniature schnauzer will play Dorothy's faithful sidekick, Toto. The musical will be presented in Benson Auditorium at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are priced according to seating visibility; Level A tickets are $15; Level B, $12; and Level C, $10. They may be purchased online at www.hardingtickets.com or at Benson Auditorium box office Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1-4 p.m.
