Hogwired.com Players of the Week Selected

— Nathan Emert, Rashaad Johnson and Alex Tejada have been recognized as the Hogwired.com players of the week for their respective performances Saturday in Arkansas' 58-10 win over Florida International.

Emert saw his most significant playing time this season as he replaced starter Casey Dick who left the game in the first half with an injury. Emert threw for 154 yards while completing 13-of-25 pass attempts. All three totals are career highs for the sophomore signal caller. He connected with Marcus Monk on a 13-yard score in the second quarter for his second touchdown pass of the season.

On defense, Johnson had two of the Razorbacks' five interceptions of FIU quarterback Wayne Younger. The interceptions, coming on back-to-back FIU possessions in the fourth quarter, were the first of Johnson's career. He is tied for third on the team with the two interceptions. The sophomore safety also tallied four tackles during the game. Johnson is part of an Arkansas secondary that is first in the Southeastern Conference and the nation in pass efficiency defense.

For the second time this season, Tejada garners special teams honors as the Hogs' placekicker. Against the Golden Panthers, Tejada nailed three field-goal attempts from 20, 32 and 42 yards and tacked on seven extra points for a total of 16 points.

The freshman kicker is second in the SEC and 13th in the nation averaging 10 points per game. He has connected on 14-of-17 field goal attempts and 38-of-40 PATs this season. Tejada is second on the UA all-time freshman field goal list with 14 field goals made, six shy of the record.

Following each game this season, Hogwired.com will recognize an offensive, defensive and special teams player of the week. Recipients are chosen by the UA football coaching staff.
