ALBERT L. CAMPBELL JR., 65, of North Little Rock passed away Oct. 28,2007, from complications of diabetes. He was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Little Rock, to the late Albert L. Sr. and Hazel Tiffi n Campbell.

Preceded in death by his son Tod Erwin Campbell and his parents. He is survived by his wife of45 years, Lorna Smith Campbell, and son A. Logan Campbell III; sisters, Gloria Chappelle (Todd) of Mobile, Ala., Barbara (Richard) Staples of North Little Rock, Janice (David) George of Memphis, Tenn., Bobby (Paige) Campbell of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Albert was a printer by trade and co-founded A & P Printing in central Arkansas in 1989. After his retirement in 2003, he enjoyed woodworking and yard sales.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 12 noon in Edgewood Memorial Park at 4200 Division in North Little Rock. ANDREW G. GREEN, 87, of North Little Rock passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2007. Born on March 26, 1920, to Dock and Alberta Green of Marche, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by his mother, father, first wife, a son and nine siblings. He was a member of Silver Tide Lodge #218 andJ.L.H. Smith Consistory #76 and a33rd Degree Mason, where he held leadership positions for many years. He was employed as a carman with the Missouri Pacific Railroad and retired in 1982 after many years of employment; he also worked as a school bus contractor with Pulaski County Special School District for many years.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Flossie Walker-Green of North Little Rock; two daughters, Carolyn Hunt of North Little Rock, Bessie Thompson of Gary, Indiana; sons, Raymond (Louise) Green, Charles (Ceasarene) Green, Cecil (Mildred) Green, all of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Benjamin Bunting of Syracuse, New York; two stepsons, Anthony (Sandra) Haney and Keith (Carmelia) Haney of North Little Rock, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family hour will be on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Holly Grove A.M.E. AMY LYNN JAMES, 30 of Maumelle, Arkansas died Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Born February, 17, 1977, in Nevada, Missouri, she was the daughter of Larry W. and Jeanece James and the late V. Janet James.She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1995. She was a member of Crystal Hill Assembly of God Church, and she was very active in diabetes and hemophilia research.

Amy was a proud mother of two boys that she had devoted her life to. Each of them was born with hemophilia and required constant care in which Amy was always involved, despite struggling with her diabetes. She had a contagious laugh that her family will always cherish.

She was preceded in death by her mother, V. Janet James; her grandmother, Francis O'Hara; her grandparents, Helen and Dan Walter; her grandfather, Jay Jessie James; and her brother-in-law, Michael P. Sheehan. Surviving Amy are her husband, Jimmy Womack of Maumelle; her children, Christian James and Jordan Baker of Maumelle; her parents, Larry and Jeanece James of North Little Rock; her sister, Angela Sheehan of Dunmore, Pennsylvania; her brothers, Jeffrey James and wife Lacey of Cabot, Michael Morris and wife Denise of Kensett; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial service was held in her memory the day following her death. Her body was donated to medical research in an effort to find a cure for diabetes. I.F. JONES died peacefully at his home in Little Rock on October 28,2007. Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was born May 31, 1914, in Dover, Arkansas, to Mary M. "Molly" and John Jones. As a young man of eighteen, he and his wife,Louise, moved to Covina, California, in search of work After working at various jobs, he was hired as a salesman at Clippinger Chevrolet,where he quickly became the leading salesman, and found that he enjoyed personal fulfillment as well as professional success in the sales field. A competitor offered him the position of sales manager, which he accepted, remaining in Covina until 1938. He then returned to Arkansas and entered into insurance sales with American National Life Insurance Co.

The 1940s brought a move to Russellville, Arkansas, and a new position with Union Life Insurance as sales manager, until he volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was stationed off the coast of Texas on Matagorda Island. He returned to the sales manager position when his service commitment was completed.

Mr. Jones was hired by Southern National Insurance in 1949 as District Manager for Little Rock and brought it to the No. 1 position. He voluntarily took the underperforming district in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and again achieved the No. 1 status for that district. In January 1955, he was hired by Louisiana National Life as vice-president and director of agencies and ended up running the entire company. It was at this time that he decided that he needed to be running his own company. He founded Ozark National Life Insurance Company in 1956 and served as its president from 1957 until his retirement in 1980. He continued to serve as chairman of the board until 1993. At the time of his death, Mr. Jones was chairman emeritus and a director of the company. He will be remembered for his strength and tenacity in business and his ability to enjoy life when the work was done.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lorene Jones; his son, John Paul Jones and wife Arlene of Little Rock; his beloved grandchildren, Gregory Paul Jones and Kimberly Suzanne Jones, both of Maumelle; a sister, Bertha Moore of Wichita, Kansas; and stepchildren, Kimberly Mordecai and Paul Mordecai (Sarah) of Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Louise Jones; a son, Charles Leon Jones; two sisters, Ethel Wilson and Irene Sturgis; and three brothers, Clarence, Fay and Calvin Jones.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow R0ad), Little Rock. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Cliff Hutchinson. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at McFadden Cemetery in Dover, Arkansas. IRA KENT NEWTON, 54, of Little Rock, Ark. Born at Dumas on June 25, 1953, and was the son of the late Justin and Mattie Newton. Kent died at St. Vincent Medical Infirmary in Little Rock on Oct. 28, 2007. He was a retired truck driver and attended East End Assembly of God Church in Little Rock.

Survivors are a son, Gregory Newton, and a daughter, Amanda Williams, both of Little Rock, Ark.; and brother, Lamar Newton, of Little Rock, Ark.; and three sisters, Opal Young and Anna Joyce Locke, both of Hot Springs, Ark., Martha Houser of Conway, Ark.; and a special friend, Jan Dicus of Little Rock, Ark.

GULIE MARIE ODUM, age 84, of Little Rock, passed away October29, 2007. She was born July 7, 1923, in Oberlin, La.; the daughter of Edgar and Gulie (Rambin) Odum. She retired from being a public health nurse for the State of Arkansas. She loved to dance and watch vintage movies. She was a mentor and counselor for many friends in her extended family and a motivational speaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Visiting Nurses Assoc., and TOPS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, brothers Paul Lamar Odum, John Howard Odum, Elmer HardingOdum, Dill Odum and her cherished pets, "Son" and "Baby". STEPHANIE C. SCARBOROUGH, 35, of Sherwood, Arkansas, died onOctober 28, 2007, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born September 4, 1972, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Stephanie attended Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Deatrice Banks, and her paternal grandfather, Thomas Scarborough Sr. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Billie, and Jeff Lashbrook of Little Rock; her fatherand stepmother, Bob and Sandee Scarborough of North Little Rock, one brother, Michael Scarborough of North Little Rock; five stepbrothers; one stepsister; one very special niece, Hayley Scarborough, of Sherwood and a very special grandmother, Myrtle Scarborough of Sherwood.

All who knew or met Stephanie were touched by her radiant smile, her quick sense of humor and memorable laugh. Stephanie graduated with honors from North Pulaski High School in 1990, graduated from Lyon College in Batesville in 1994, and graduated from Baptist Nursing School with honors in 1999. Stephanie was voted one of the four best nurses in Arkansas in May 2007.

The family would like to express a heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn and his staff at Little Rock Oncology and Hematology Clinic and to the wonderful and caring nurses and staff of Floor 10A at Baptist Medical Center and to her very supporting co-workers in the emergency room at Baptist Medical Center-Springhill.

SELMA ANN SHADLE, age 80, of Maumelle, Arkansas, went to bewith her Lord on October 26, 2007. She was born on January 23, 1927, in Little Rock, to her parents, Lee H. and Selma (Hansen) Evans. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who loved working in her yard, and loved talking with her neighbors who admired her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch B. Shadle, her parents, a brother, Raymond A. Evans; two sisters, Mary Lee Alexander and Katherine Spears. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Dierks of Wabbaseka, Arkansas; one son, Larry T. and Beverly Shadle of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a brother, Lee H. BENTON - Mr. Kelley Richards Chandler, age 28, of Benton, passedaway on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 16, 1979, in Little Rock. Kelley was the former owner and operator of the Higdon Ferry UPS Store in Hot Springs, a graduate of Benton High School Classof 1998, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Benton.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mike Richards. BENTON - Emma Jean Laster, 71, of Benton, passed away Oct. 28, 2007. She was born Sept. 5, 1936, to the late Dwight and Hazel Hunter in Havana, Ark. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas Herald Laster. Survivors, sons, Patrick and Vince Laster of Benton; daughters, Brenda Bridges of Benton, Laurel Beach of California, Lisa Doyle, Alexander; brother, Dwight Hunter of Malvern; fourteen grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

BENTON - Debbie Linderman, 53, of Benton, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2007. She was born May 6, 1954, in Helena, Ark., to the late Hurley and Inez Underwood. Debbie was devoted to and loved her family dearly. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of Fellowship BibleChurch. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Underwood. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Luper and son-in-law, Jason Luper of Little Rock; her son, Chris Linderman of Benton; and her cousins, Fred Hendon of Florence, Ala., and Brenda Smith and Norma Ringer, both of Helena, Ark.

CABOT - Mamie Sue Anderson, age 65, of Cabot passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007. She was born Oct. 28, 1942, in Lonoke, Ark., to the late Edward and Willie Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, E.L. Johnson, J.B. Johnson, Pat Johnson and Freddie Johnson. Sue was a member of AFLCIO and of the Pentecostal faith. She loved bowling and playing bingo.

Sue is survived by her husband, James Anderson of Cabot; children, Ray Anderson and his wife Christy of North Little Rock and Pam Hudson and her husband Robert of Russellville; brothers, Larry Johnson of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Johnny Johnson of San Dimas, Calif.; six grandchildren, Amber Fletcher, Blair Anderson, Melissa Hudson, Heather Anderson, Nick Hudson, and Ryan Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Hailey and David Fletcher.

CONWAY - George L. Gunter Jr., 84, of Conway, went to be with theLord Monday, October 29th, 2007, at his home. Born September 28th, 1923 in Vilonia, Arkansas to the late George L. Gunter, Sr. and Margaret (Baswell) Gunter, he was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ, and a Navyveteran of WWII. Mr. Gunter retired from Arkla after more than thirtyfive years of service in the division office. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Cardinals Baseball.

Survivors include his wife of sixtyone years, Shirley (Harris) Gunter, three sons; Lewis Keith Gunter (Jamie), Larry Kenneth Gunter (Sheri), and Jack Glenn Gunter (Gail), seven grandchildren; Heather Marie Gunter, Phillip Morgan Gunter, Beau Carder, Casey Carder, Lincoln Mantlo, Angelique Hendrix, and Stephanie Gunter-Farmer (Josh), and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters; Bonnie Paul, Juanita Simmons, Shirley Jean Sapp, and Margaret Fowler. He was preceded in death by a brother;G.W. Gunter, and two sisters; Maxine Landis and Amelia Ferrel.

KNOXVILLE - Lt. Col. John Burton Crockett Jr. of Knoxville, formally of Clarksville died Saturday, Oct 27, 2007 at Johnson Regional Medical Center. He was born on Seminary Hill, Fort Worth, Texas to John Burton and Ruth Bragg Crockett.

His wife, Ghaski Imogine of almost60 years, two sons, John Alan Crockett and wife Natalie of Austin, Texas and David Lynn Crockett of Clarksville, survives him. Three grandchildren, Harley Adams and family, Christopher and Krystal Crockett of Austin, Texas and one brother Earl Bragg Crockett and wife, Edwina of Little Rock, nieces Suzanne Kelley and Husband Kim of Hot Springs and Tully Ritchie and husband Chuck of High Point, N.C.

Lt. Col. Crockett graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla. He served 34 years in the Army in WWII, and Korea and the Pentagon. He opened the Roadrunner here in Clarksville, was active in the Republican Party, and served as Sunday school teacher and deacon at Cherry Street Baptist Church.

McCASKILL - Daphine Watts Smith, age 82, of McCaskill, Ark .,passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 21, 1924, to Newman and Etha Watts of Pisgah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47years, M.R. Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Mick Smith of Delight, Ark.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and George Hill of McCaskill, Ark. and Terrie and Reggie Gregory of West Monroe, La.; two brothers, Coy Watts and Bo Watts of Delight, Ark.; three sisters, Oce Drolet of Atlanta, Ga., Annette Casley of Houston, Texas, and Cherrie Glasgow of Houston, Texas. STUTTGART - Jewel Reeves Lockhart of Stuttgart died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Humphrey to Jack and Cynthia Byers Reeves onFeb. 23, 1921. She married Quinton Lockhart on Jan. 12, 1940. She was a retired school teacher, a farmer's wife and a loving mother.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ray "Buddy" Lockhart; a son-in-law, Bob Farrester; three brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by four daughters, Jane Reeves and husband, Harvey of Benton, Joy Black and husband, Jay of Stuttgart, Quinta Cruthis and husband, Richard of Cave City and Maribeth Farrester of Stuttgart. She loved her 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Miss Jewel, as referred to by her former students, also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was a lifelong member of the Humphrey EH Club and a member of Humphrey Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, card games and her friends at the Stuttgart Senior Citizens Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5-8 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home. TUCKERMAN - Mr. J.W. McNutt, 68, of Tuckerman died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Little Rock. He was born April 15, 1939 at Tuckerman, the son of Joseph and Esther Lee (Kell) McNutt. Mr. McNutt was a member of the Tuckerman Church of Christ. He had attended Harding University, and retired from Roberts/ McNutt Waterproofing.

DYERSBURG, Tenn. - James Michael Prince, 60, of Dyersburg,Tenn., entered the gates of heaven Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007. Jim was born on Oct. 31, 1946, in Warren, Ohio, to the late Earl M. Prince Jr. and Martha Maureen Prince. He was also preceded in death by his daughter,Jennifer Michelle Prince.

He attended Jacksonville High School (Red Devils Class of '65) and UCA. He was in the Air National Guard and went on to lifelong career in the electric motor manufacturing industry as engineer, production manager, plant manager and director of engineering. He was employed at Marathon Electric/Regal-Beloit, Blytheville, Ark. He is a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg, Tenn. He was an avid Razorback fan, loved to tell jokes and enjoyed spending family vacations at the beach.

Jim was a devoted husband, loving father, dedicated grandfather, loyal son, brother and friend. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Avis Shearer Prince; daughter, Lisa Prince Thomas and husband Dale Thomas of Jacksonville; son, Blake Prince and wife Jennifer Luckey Prince; granddaughter, Addison Grace Prince; grandson, Carter Michael Prince, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; mother, Maureen Prince of Titusville, Fla.; sisters, Sheilagh and Billy Basset of Odessa, Texas, Sharyn and Don Vest of Dallas, Texas, and Colleen Prince of Titusville, Fla.; as well as three special nieces, Erin and Paige Bassett and Kerri Prince; and sister-in-law and brother-inlaw, Greg and Vernell Forman.
