Col. D.W. Moore of Van Buren has, without doubt, the oldest copy of the Arkansas Gazette in that portion of the state, if not the oldest to be found outside of the files kept in the Gazette office, it bearing the date of August 5, 1823.

MEMPHIS - As Mrs. Grace Lorch repeatedly tried to read her prepared statement at the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee hearing, Sen. William Jenner (R-Ind.) pounded the table with clenched fist and shouted: "You're a troublemaker, aren't you? Saying this committee investigated you because you protected a Negro girl in Little Rock's integration struggle. We are not concerned with integration. We do not care what you did in Little Rock. We are concerned with the threat of communism to this nation."

The Rev. L.K. Solomon, pastor of Indiana Street Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, said he is opposed to the state-sponsored conference on the family and to a state committee promoting abstinence from sex before marriage. He wrote Attorney General Winston Bryant asking him "to rule against the use of the state airplane or any tax money to fund any of Governor Mike Huckabee's ministries."
