Earnings report

— Companies reporting quarterly earnings Tuesday included:

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. reported a profit of $668 million, or $2.75 a share, compared with a loss of $48 million, or 27 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $5.06 billion. Shares rose $2.05 to close at $29.16.

Procter & Gamble Co. reported a profit of $3.08 billion, or 92 cents a share, from $2.7 billion, or 79 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 8 percent to $20.2 billion. Shares fell$2.888 to close at $68.95.

Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. reported a loss of $120.1 million or 8 cents a share, from a loss of $162.9 million, or 12 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 45 percent to $241.8 million. Shares fell 24 cents to close at $3.37.

United States Steel Corp. reported a profit of $269 million, or $2.27 a share, from $417 million, or $3.42 a share, a year ago. Revenue grew about 6 percent to $4.35 billion. Shares fell $7.88 to close at $104.62.
