New jobs expected for Pocahontas in form of medical products company

— A new $1.5 million distribution center for a medical products company will be setting up in northeast Arkansas, adding 40 new jobs to the region, state officials announced Tuesday.

State officials say the Dynarex Corp. announcement comes as another plant making cordless and pneumatic fastening system will add 20 new positions at their plant. ITW Paslode says the expansion will bring its total work force to more than 140 people in Pocahontas.

Dynarex plans to have its facility open by January.

"These announcements display important commitments to Randolph County," Gov. Mike Beebe said. "Pasolde's expansion shows its continued strong relationship with the people and communities of northeast Arkansas. Dynarex's decision to locate in Pocahontas is a welcome new investment that utilizes existing building resources while bringing new jobs to town."
