— 1. Hang it up. Past and present collide at Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park during the annual Clothesline Fair, Saturday-Monday. Activities include square dancing, music and traditional Ozark arts and crafts exhibitions as well as a ham radio broadcast tent and martial arts demonstrations. The 5K Battlefield Run and the one mile Yankee Dash kick things off at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, with a parade at 9 a.m. General admission is free; $4 parking fee. Race registration is $15. 2. Swing by. Families with animal-loving kids can have fun and save a few dollars this weekend at the Little Rock Zoo. Through Monday, visitors 12 and younger are free. 3. Tip your hat. The Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View presents a Tribute to Grandpa Jones, a weekend of traditional music. Tonight, The Tennessee Gentlemen will perform a variety of contemporary, traditional and gospel songs. Tickets are $12.50. Doc Watson and David Holt present their blend of Appalachian, blues, country, gospel and bluegrass Saturday. Tickets are $37.50. Both shows start at 7:30 with a performance by Ramona Jones and The Jones Family Band. Call (870) 269-3851.

4. Turn it on. As part of its Reel Stories documentary film series, theWinthrop Rockefeller Institute presents a screening of Who Killed the Electric Car? The documentary about the life and death of the GM EV1 electric car begins at 7 p.m. today at the institute, 1 Rockefeller Drive, Petit Jean Mountain, Morrilton. 5. Step in. Get back to nature without leaving the comfort of the great indoors. Cantrell Gallery's newest exhibit, "A Walk in the Woods: A Photographic Study of Arkansas," is a collection of photos of nature in the Natural State by Paul Caldwell. It will remain on display through Oct. 18. Thegallery is at 8206 Cantrell Road. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and admission is free. Call (501) 224-1335.

6. Celebrate. In 1923, Petit Jean became Arkansas' first state park and in 1933,building and improvements began. The state park celebrates this anniversary with Petit Jean Founders' Day, a day of activities and programs on the park's heritage, including a riddle hunt, walking tours, dedications, readings and a keynote address by Richard Davies, Department of Arkansas Parks and Tourism executive director. 7. Watch a battle. The Civil War comes to life this weekend with a re-enactment at Reed's Bridge Battlefield, off Arkansas 161 on the south side of Jacksonville. Participants uniformed in blue and gray will replay the Aug. 27, 1863, battle that preceded the Union capture of Little Rock. The re-enactment is free, starting at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday around Reed's Bridge over Bayou Meto Creek. There'll be drilling Saturday morning, as well as a memorial service at noon Sunday at Bayou Meto Cemetery. Call (501) 833-0565.

8. Flutter by. Spend a weekend with the floaty and the fluttery at Queen Whilhelmina State Park's Wings of Wonder Butterfly Weekend, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Monday. Park interpreters will offer a series of activities, programs and hikes centered on the winged insects. Admission is free. Call (479) 394-2863.

9. Hunt. Go looking for clues and learn a little about history while you're at it with Little Rock Tours' Murder at MacArthur Park. The interactive mystery dinner theater starts at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Ninth St. Tickets are $44. Call (501) 978-4393.

10. Hitch 'em up. The excitement is already under way at the National Championship Chuckwagon Races in Clinton. Races, rodeos, trail rides and music are on the schedule today-Sunday at the Eoff Ranch, 2848 Shake Rag Road. Admission is $25 today and Saturday, $15 Sunday.
