MUSIC SCENE: After-Christmas show at Juanita's is The Big Cat's meow

— The Big Cats will headline a day-after-Christmas show today at Juanita's, 13th and Main streets, Little Rock.

Ashtray Babyhead and Kevin Kerby & Battery will open the show at 9 p.m. Cover charge is $6.

The Big Cats gather each year during the Christmas holidays when all are back in central Arkansas. Members are Jason White, Colin Brooks, Burt Taggart and Josh Bentley. Taggart reports that the show will be their last "for quite a while as Jason is about to be busy with a new Green Day album and tour." White plays guitar in Green Day.

Saturday night, Juanita's will feature AJKJ, with opening sets by Beau Nixon and Patric Ellis at 9:30 p.m. Cover charge is $7.

Both shows are open to those age 18 and over.

The Tragikly White Band returns to Sticky Fingerz Chicken Shack, 107 Commerce St., Little Rock, for a show at 10 p.m. today billed as a Tragikly White Christmas Party. Cover charge is $6.

The Good Time Ramblers will perform at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Sticky Fingerz. Cover charge is $5.

Ramona & the Soul Rhythms will perform tonight at Cajun's Wharf, 2400 Cantrell Road, Little Rock. Admission is $5 after 8:30 p.m.

The Big John Miller Band will rock The Afterthought, 2721 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, at 9 p.m. today. Cover charge is $7.

Cody Belew & Co., a new central Arkansas act, will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at The Afterthought. Cover charge is$7. Call (501) 663-1196.

Michael "Iron Man" Burks and band will perform at 9 p.m. today at Shark's Old School Lounge, 634 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs.

Cover charge is $5. Call (501) 318-5282. Burks, who records for Alligator Records, was recently nominated for three Blues Music Awards, for Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year, Instrumentalist (Guitar) and for Rock Blues Album of the Year (for Iron Man).

Fayetteville singer-songwriter Benjamin Del Shreve will perform at 8 p.m. today at theRevolution Room, 300 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. Tickets are $5; $10 for those between ages 18 and 21.

American Princes will headline a show Saturday night at the Rev Room, with Smoke Up Johnny and Eclipse Glasses opening the show at 9 p.m. Admission is $7; $10 for those under age 21.

American Princes' latest album, Other People, was released by Yep Roc Records. The group has opened for The Roots, The Flaming Lips, Mudhoney and Spoon, and its songs have been featured on the HBO cable TV series, Entourage.
