— Authorities say a De Queen woman has been charged with theft by deception for allegedly selling cookie dough for a military homecoming for soldiers and pocketing the money.

Authorities say 25-year-old Julie Milligan Owen collected $456 for the fundraiser but never delivered any cookie dough. De Queen police say Owen told people the fundraiser would pay for a homecoming for soldiers returning from Iraq, but military officials say no such fundraiser exists.

Owen has been charged with 19 counts of misdemeanor theft by deception. She has been released from the Sevier County jail on a $19,000 bond.
