There was no Tuesday surprise in Arkansas as voters strongly backed two home-state favorites in their races for the Democratic and Republican nominations.
Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mike Huckabee each were headed to big victories late Tuesday evening. For Huckabee, the win helped keep his campaign alive.

"You know, over the past few days a lot of people have been trying to say that this is a two-man race. Well, you know what, it is, and we're in it," Huckabee said after the Arkansas race, and some others, were called in his favor. "Tonight we are making sure America understands that sometimes, one small, smooth stone is even more effective than a whole lot of armor."
Even as thunderstorms and tornadoes battered towns across the state, final turnout was expected to be strong. More than 56,000 Arkansans had voted early, more than in either of the past two presidential primary elections.
