Home-buyer's class scheduled

BENTON — Central Arkansas Development Council and the Family Service Agency are conducting a free class for first-time home buyers at the CADC Benton Senior Activity Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants will learn about finances, taxes, insurance and other aspects of purchasing a home.

Participants will receive a certificate at the end of the day that can qualify them for down payment assistance through the A rkansas Development Finance Authority's AmericanDream Down-Payment Assistance program. The certificate can be used for a down payment or closing costs.

The certificate is good for one year from the date of the class.

The certificate holder must not have bought a home within the past two years.

Income guidelines must be met.

Other eligibility requirements must also be met.
