QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand - I boarded a flight in Denver's searing, saunalike, summer heat, changed planes in sticky, steambathlike Los Angeles and welcomed the breezy, drizzly cool air of Auckland during the Southern Hemisphere's winter. I was heading for snow and skiing.
